Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 2026 · Your privacy is 100% protected. Runs entirely in your browser.
The Short Version
We do not want your data.
You do not need an account to use RicePurityText.com. We do not ask for your name or your email. Your test answers and your final score are worked out inside your own browser and are never sent to us, never saved, and never seen by anyone but you.
The longer version below explains exactly what does happen, because you deserve the details rather than just a promise.
1. Who We Are
RicePurityText.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website (read more on our About Us page). This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you visit, why, and what control you have over it.
By using this site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
2. Information You Give Us
Your test answers and score: never collected.
The Rice Purity Test on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you tick a box, nothing is transmitted anywhere. Your score is calculated on your own device.
We do not collect, store, record, log, or transmit your answers or your final score. We could not show you your past results even if you asked us to, because we never had them in the first place. When you close the tab, the results are gone.
If you choose to share your score on social media or with friends, that is your decision and your action. We do not track it and we are not involved.
Contact form submissions.
If you email us or use our Contact page, we will receive whatever you send us, which normally means your name, your email address, and your message. We use that only to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not sell it, and we do not keep it longer than we need to in order to deal with your enquiry.
3. Information Collected Automatically
Like almost every website, some basic technical information is recorded when you visit. This is handled by the third-party services listed in Section 5, not stored in a database of our own. It typically includes:
- Your IP address, usually in a shortened or anonymised form
- Browser type and version
- Device type, such as desktop, mobile, or tablet
- Operating system
- Which pages you visited and how long you stayed
- The website or search engine that sent you here
- General location at country or city level, never a precise address
None of this identifies you personally, and we never try to link it to a real person. We look at it in aggregate to understand things like which pages are popular and whether the site is loading properly on phones.
4. How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above to:
- Operate the website and keep it working
- Understand overall traffic patterns so we can improve the site
- Diagnose technical problems, errors, and slow pages
- Protect the site against abuse, bots, spam, and security threats
- Reply to messages you send us
- Display advertising, where applicable, as described in Section 6
- Comply with the law if we are ever legally required to
We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not sell it. Ever.
5. Cookies and Analytics
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser. Some are needed for a site to function. Others help owners understand how their site is being used.
What we use
We keep this list short on purpose, and we will update this page if it ever changes.
- Google Analytics 4. Helps us see aggregate visitor behaviour: popular pages, average time on site, device types, and rough geography. Data is anonymised and aggregated. You can read Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Microsoft Clarity. Provides heatmaps and anonymised session insights so we can see where layouts confuse people or buttons are hard to tap. It does not capture personally identifiable information, and form fields are masked.
- Google Search Console. Shows us how the site performs in search results. It sets no cookies on your browser and collects no data about you directly.
- Essential and security cookies. A small number of cookies may be set to keep the site secure, remember your cookie preferences, and prevent abuse.
How to control cookies
You are in charge here. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or use your browser’s private or incognito mode.
Blocking cookies will not stop you from taking the test. The test does not need them.
6. Advertising
We may display advertising on this site to cover our hosting and running costs, including through Google AdSense and other advertising partners.
Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
Important: our advertising partners never receive your test answers or your score, because we never have them to give.
7. Children’s Privacy
This website is intended for users aged 13 and over.
The classic 100-question Rice Purity Test contains references to mature subject matter, including relationships, alcohol, and other adult topics. It is not designed for children, and we recommend it for users aged 18 and over. Younger teenagers should have parental guidance.
In line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information through our contact form, please get in touch and we will delete it promptly.
We encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in supervising their children’s activity online.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Because we do not collect personal data from visitors who simply take the test, there is usually nothing about you for us to hand over, correct, or delete. That said, here are your rights in full.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access any personal data we hold about you
- Request that inaccurate data be corrected
- Request that your data be deleted
- Restrict or object to how your data is processed
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority
Where we do process limited technical data, our lawful basis is legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website, or your consent where consent is required for cookies.
If you are in California (CCPA and CPRA)
You have the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information are collected and why
- Request deletion of personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframe the law requires.
9. Data Retention
- Test answers and scores: never stored, so there is nothing to retain. They disappear when you close the tab.
- Contact messages: kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry, then deleted, normally within 12 months.
- Analytics data: retained by the analytics provider according to their own retention settings, typically 14 months or less, in anonymised and aggregated form.
10. Third-Party Links & DMCA
Our site may link to other websites, including reference sources and social media platforms. Those sites are not under our control. We are not responsible for their content, their security, or how they treat your data.
If you follow a link away from RicePurityText.com, we would encourage you to read that site’s own privacy policy before sharing anything with them.
11. Data Security
We serve this site over HTTPS, which encrypts the connection between your browser and our server. We keep our software patched and our systems tightly scoped.
The single biggest security feature of this site is that there is almost nothing to steal. We hold no accounts, no passwords, no payment details, and no test results.
That said, no method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we will not pretend otherwise.
12. International Visitors
This site can be accessed worldwide, and the services we use may process technical data on servers located in the United States and other countries. By using the site, you understand that this limited technical information may be processed outside your country of residence.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the tools we use, or the law. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
If we ever make a significant change, we will make it obvious rather than burying it. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
14. Contact Us
Questions about this policy, or about privacy on this site generally? Please reach us through our Contact page.
We aim to reply to every genuine message, and we will give you a straight answer.
