Why We Built RicePurityText.com
The Rice Purity Test has been around for over a hundred years, and somehow most versions of it online feel like an afterthought. Slow pages. Pop-ups everywhere. Sign-up walls before you can even see your score. Some sites even ask for your email just to tell you a number that your own browser already worked out.
That never sat right with us.
So we built the version we wanted to use ourselves. One page, 100 honest questions, an instant score, and nothing else getting in the way. No account. No email. No clutter. Just the test, the way it was meant to be taken.
What This Site Actually Is
RicePurityText.com is a free online home for the classic 100-question Rice Purity Test. You tick the experiences you have had, you get a score between 0 and 100, and that is the end of it. It takes about five minutes.
We keep the original 100-question format because that is the version people know and the one the tradition is built on. We have not padded it out, watered it down, or rewritten the questions to chase clicks. The test you take here is the test you came looking for.
Everything runs in your browser. Your answers never leave your device, and your score is never sent to us.
What We Stand For
We are a small operation, so we keep our promises small in number and serious in weight.
The real 100 questions, in the traditional format. No manipulated wording, no inflated scores, no clickbait results designed to make you share something you did not mean.
We do not ask for your name, your email, or anything else about you. We do not store your answers, and we do not store your score. We cannot show you your old results because we genuinely do not have them (learn more in our Privacy Policy).
A lot of the people who take this test are teenagers and college students. Some of the questions touch on real and sensitive things. We are not here to rank anyone, shame anyone, or turn a number into a label. Take it, laugh at it, and get on with your day.
The page should load fast and work properly on your phone. That sounds obvious. Try a few other versions and you will see why we mention it.
We Are Not Affiliated With Rice University
This matters, so we will say it plainly.
RicePurityText.com is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Rice University, the Rice Thresher, or any of their staff or students in any official capacity.
We use the name “Rice Purity Test” because that is the common name for a well-known survey that first appeared in the Rice Thresher, Rice University’s student newspaper, back in 1924. That original version asked around ten questions of 119 women students on campus. Over the following decades the paper revisited and reworked it, and eventually the 100-question format that everyone recognises today took hold.
We think that history is genuinely interesting, and we try to tell it accurately rather than repeating the invented dates and made-up statistics that float around on other sites. But telling the story is all we do. The tradition belongs to Rice. We just built a decent place to take the test under our Terms and Conditions and DMCA Copyright Policy.
A Note to Everyone Who Takes the Test
Your score is not a report card.
It is not a measure of your character, your morals, your future, or your worth. It counts experiences, and that is all it can do. A high score does not make you better than anyone. A low score does not make you worse. Two people can get the exact same number and have lived completely different lives.
If a question makes you uncomfortable, skip it. If your number surprises you, sit with it for a second and then let it go. And please do not treat the list as a bucket list. Some of the items describe things that are genuinely dangerous or illegal, and none of them are goals.
Take the test because it is a bit of fun and a bit of self-reflection. Every number has a story behind it, and yours is the only one that matters to you.
